About GRC
6 questions
What is GRC?
GRC (glass fibre reinforced concrete) is a cement-based material reinforced with alkali-resistant glass fibres instead of steel bars. Because the fibres run through the whole section, GRC can be cast in thin, strong, detailed shapes such as jali, domes, columns and cornices that would be far heavier in ordinary concrete or stone.
Is GRC the same as GFRC?
Yes. GRC and GFRC (glass fibre reinforced concrete) are two names for the same material. GRC is more common in India and the UK, GFRC in the US.
How long does GRC last?
GRC has no steel reinforcement to rust and uses alkali-resistant fibre, so it is well suited to outdoor use. With sensible detailing and occasional maintenance (cleaning, resealing or repainting), GRC elements last for decades.
How does GRC compare with stone, RCC and POP?
GRC is far lighter than stone or precast concrete for the same look, takes detail as well as carved stone, and, unlike POP or plaster mouldings, is made for outdoor use. It is also quicker on site because elements arrive finished.
Is GRC fire-resistant?
GRC is a cement-based material and is non-combustible.
How heavy is GRC?
Typically, a GRC skin 12 to 15 mm thick weighs about 25 to 35 kg per square metre, compared with about 240 kg per square metre for a 100 mm precast concrete panel. Actual weights depend on the element and are confirmed for each project.

7 questions
Do you only make catalogue designs?
No. Most of our work is custom. We make masters and moulds to your drawing, and we also have existing moulds for common profiles.
What do you need from me for a quotation?
Drawings or photos of what you want, approximate sizes and quantities, the finish you have in mind, and the site location. WhatsApp is the quickest way to send them.
How much does GRC cost?
It depends on the element, its size, detail and finish, the quantity, and whether we install. Jali and cladding are usually priced per square foot, mouldings per running foot or metre, and columns, domes and ornaments per piece. Send us your requirement for a quotation.
How long does a GRC project take?
Elements that use our existing moulds can start sooner; new designs need time for drawings and moulds. We give you a schedule with the quotation, based on your design and quantities.
Do you install, or only supply?
Both. We can design, manufacture and install, or supply elements for your own team to fix.
Do you work outside Bangalore?
Yes. We manufacture in Bangalore and supply projects across India. Tell us where the site is and we'll confirm delivery and installation in the quotation.
Can I visit your manufacturing unit?
Yes. Call or WhatsApp us to arrange a visit. Seeing moulds and finished pieces is the best way to judge the work.
Care and maintenance
3 questions
Does GRC need maintenance?
Very little. Occasional cleaning keeps it looking fresh, and painted or sealed finishes are renewed from time to time, as with any exterior surface.
Can GRC be painted?
Yes. GRC takes exterior emulsions, texture paints and clear sealers. It can also be left in its natural cement finish or coloured with integral pigments.
Do you repair GRC elements?
Yes. We inspect, repair, clean and repaint GRC elements, and can recast damaged pieces from the original moulds.
