GRC arches and arch surrounds
Arches are hard to build accurately on site, because every block and moulding has to follow the curve. A GRC arch is cast against a mould set out to the exact geometry, so the curve, the mouldings and the keystone arrive ready to fix.
We make pointed Mughal arches, cusped arches, semicircular Roman arches and flat arches, as plain surrounds or with jali infill.

How we make and fix it
Arches are cast in one piece or in segments, depending on the span, and fixed around the structural opening with anchors. Jambs and imposts are set first, then the arch pieces and the keystone.

GRC arches: questions
Can an arch be filled with jali?
Yes. We cast jali panels shaped to the arch and fix them inside the surround, like the windows in the elevation on our home page.
Can you make arches for an existing opening?
Yes. We measure the opening on site and make the surround to fit.
