GRC jali and lattice screens

A jali is a pierced screen: a panel cut through with a repeating pattern of openings. In GRC it keeps the depth and crisp edges of a carved stone jali at a fraction of the weight, so large screens can be hung on a facade without heavy structure behind them.

We cast jali panels to your pattern and size (geometric, floral, traditional or contemporary) and join them into continuous screens for elevations, staircase walls, balconies and boundary walls.

Typical drawing. Sizes, profile and finish are made to your design.

Where it's used

  • Building elevations and double-height facades
  • Staircase and lift-core walls
  • Balcony and terrace screens
  • Compound walls and gates
  • Pergolas and garden pavilions
  • Interior partitions and pooja room screens

How we make and fix it

Each pattern starts as a drawing that we turn into a master and a mould. Panels are cast in our Bangalore unit, cured, demoulded and finished by hand so the edges of every opening stay clean.

On site, panels are fixed to the structure or into a frame with brackets and anchors, and the joints are sealed and finished.

GRC jali: questions

More about GRC

Can you make a jali in our own pattern?

Yes. Send us a drawing, a CAD file, a photo or a sketch. We develop it into a production drawing for your approval and then make the mould.

How is GRC jali priced?

Usually per square foot of screen, depending on the pattern, depth, finish and quantity. Send us the size and a reference image on WhatsApp and we'll quote.

Is GRC jali strong enough for an outside wall?

Yes. GRC is reinforced throughout with alkali-resistant glass fibre and has no steel to rust, so it suits exposed facades. Panel sizes and fixings are worked out for each project.
