GRC columns and pillar covers
Most GRC columns are shells that wrap a structural RCC or steel column, giving it a shaft, base and capital without adding real load. They are cast in halves or segments and joined on site so the seams disappear.
We make Doric, Ionic, Corinthian and Tuscan columns, Indian temple pillars and plain contemporary columns, round or square, to any height.

How we make and fix it
Shafts are cast in two or more parts against moulds with the flutes and taper built in. The finished-elements yard at our unit usually has fluted shells stacked and waiting for dispatch.
On site, the parts are fixed around the structural column, packed, joined and finished by hand at the joints.

GRC columns: questions
Are GRC columns structural?
Usually not. A GRC column is a decorative shell around a structural column designed by your engineer. It adds the profile and detail without the weight of solid stone or concrete.
Can you fit columns around existing pillars?
Yes. We measure the existing columns and size the shells to fit around them with room for fixing.
Do capitals and bases come with the column?
They can. Capitals and bases are separate pieces, so you can choose each one independently.
Often used with
GRC capitals
Ionic, Corinthian and custom capitals with carved detail.GRC arches
Pointed, round and cusped arches with surrounds, keystones and imposts.GRC cornices
Cornices, string courses and mouldings made as light hollow sections.GRC balusters
Turned and square balusters for balconies, terraces, stairs and gardens.
